SIMPLE STRATEGIES FOR NURSES TO PREVENT FOOT ACHE

Nurses give patient care all day on their feet.  Even nurses go home with their feet pain. In spite of taking care of patient, nurses don’t get enough time in taking care of their health in right time. Here some simple strategies that nurses can follow to prevent their feet ache.

·         Buy shoes of your correct foot size. Check comfort of your heel .
·         Use compression socks of your size to improve circulation.
·         Don’t stand in the same position for a long time.
·         Alternate your standing time with sitting and walking.
·         Monitor for your weight frequently. Avoid weight gain.
·         Drink adequate amount of water frequently.
·         After shift, lie flat on your bed, raise and stretch your leg at 15 degree angle for 15 counts. Repeat it on the other leg.
·         Use tennis or baseball to roll your feet.
·         Do simple foot stretching exercises.
·         Once you reach home, soak your feet for 5 to 15 minutes  in a warm water dissolved with salt
