NURSING CAREER
Nursing is one of the most promising career for women in India. Nursing is very challenging , hardworking and respectful profession. In India, most number of nurses are produced in Kerala and Rajasthan. The nursing courses in India are as follows :
UG Degree Courses:
·         B.Sc (N) – Basic (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) – 4 years
·         P.B.B.Sc (N) – Post Basic – 2 years
UG Degree Courses:
·         M.Sc (N) – Master of Science in Nursing - 2 years
Doctoral courses :
·         M.Phil – 1 year (Full Time)
·         M.Phil – 2 year (Part Time)
·         Ph. D (Doctor in Philosophy) – 3 years (Full Time)
·         Ph. D (Doctor in Philosophy) – 5 years (Part Time)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
B.Sc (N) :
·         Minimum age 17 years on 31st December of the same year of admission.
·         Student should be medically fit.
·         10+2 class passed with physics, chemistry, biology,english or physics , chemistry ,botany zoology& English with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE OR OTHER EQUIVALENT BOARD.
P.B.B.Sc(N) :
·         Passed the 10+2  or a similar examination  recognized by the university.
·         Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as RN &RM with the recognized nursing council.
M.Sc(N) :
·         Candidate should be RN and RM with any state nursing council.
·         B.Sc Nursing / B. Sc. Hons Nursing / Post Basic B . Sc Nursing with 55% as the minimum aggregate marks.
·         Candidate should have undergone full time (Regular) course in B. Sc Nursing / P. B. B. Sc Nursing in a college which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
·         Minimum one year job experience after Basic B. Sc Nursing.
·         Minimum one year job experience prior or after Post Basic B. Sc Nursing.(Regular)
·         Candidate shall be medically fit.

SALARY FOR NURSES:
·         Initially one will start to earn Rs..8000 to Rs.15000/-per month.
·         On gaining experience one will start  to earn Rs.48000 to Rs. 72000/- monthly.
·         Salary may vary according to the heath sector (Government/Private/Military) they are working.
·         In abroad nurses will earn 50000 USD TO 65000 USD annually.
If nurses choose the career in abroad they can be financially rewarded. Higher your professional degree and skill will help you earn a higher salary as well.
GROWING DEMAND :
·         WHO (2018) Recommends of 2.5 nurses per thousand population. 
·          India will need 2 million doctors and 6 million nurses by 2030 ,as the World Bank predicts a shortage of 80.2 million healthcare workers by 2030 worldwide.
·         Indian healthcare sector will generate 40 million new jobs by 2020.- by Boston Consulting and CII
·         WHO predicts that world will need additional 9 million nurses and midwives by the year 2030.
·         To meet the growing demand of doctors and nurses , India needs an 2.4 million nurses additionally said by FICCI-EY.
An interesting aspect of nursing professional is that it is the only profession which is highly populated with women nurses. However , nowadays men are also showing interest.
